Unwinding with a Weekend Escape at JW Marriott Prestige Golfshire Resort

Chapter 1: First Impressions & Check-In Magic

All the buzz you’ve heard about this resort? 100% true. Curious why? Let me take you through it.

Located just 20 minutes from Bengaluru International Airport, the JW Marriott Prestige Golfshire Resort & Spa is a slice of luxury set against the scenic backdrop of the Nandi Hills. This was our first visit, and as a family of five, we booked two rooms. Check-in felt personal and warm, complete with thoughtful smiles and a traditional shawl welcome. By the time we walked into the lobby at 3:30 p.m., our little family squabble over “who made us reach late” had already dissolved into laughter. Chaos somehow melts into calm the moment you step inside.

The front desk process was smooth — a quick ID check and we were handed our keys to adjacent rooms. Now came the fun part: deciding who gets which view. Nischal and I chose the garden view, while his parents and sister got the pool view. How did we decide? With all the seriousness of… Inky Pinky Ponky. Sometimes, the simplest methods work best.

Chapter 2: Afternoon Fun & High Tea

The resort has more than enough to keep both kids and families happily engaged. By the time we freshened up, it was already time for activities and their signature High Tea — “Halli Katte”, a nod to the local slang for community hangouts. Our first adventure? Golf putting. Some of us were beginners, leading to laughs, dramatic misses, and exactly the kind of family bonding we had been craving.

Then came the coffee. Confession time: we’re a serious coffee family. Caffeine no longer keeps us awake — sometimes we even need it to sleep! Can you relate? Welcome to the tribe. The High Tea itself was elaborate — fried snacks, chaat-style bites, and unlimited “Hatti Kaapi” filter coffee. Each of us shamelessly went back for seconds (or thirds). Perfect fuel before exploring the resort further.

Chapter 3: Entertainment Zone & Spa Views

Next stop: the entertainment zone. Compact compared to the resort’s size, but packed with foosball, carrom, bowling, golf drive, and more. Nischal and I even enjoyed a spontaneous badminton and table tennis match with another family — pure joy. We then wandered to the Spa by JW. The cozy hangout area sits close to the entertainment zone, so it’s less private than expected, but the view of cloud-covered Nandi Hills made up for it. Bengaluru’s moody skies, cool breeze, and dramatic hill views? Magical. Moments like these remind us why we love our karma bhoomi.

Chapter 4: Dinner & Room Comforts

Dinner time arrived, but exhaustion from hectic days had caught up with us. My sister-in-law and mother-in-law enjoyed a “girls’ dinner” at Aleeshan, while Nischal, my father-in-law, and I indulged in… yes, more coffee. (No judgment!) The rooms were everything a 5-star property promises. Switchboards made sense, bathrooms were almost as big as the room, and the bathtub with bath salts plus Apothecary amenities was a luxurious touch. Each room had a private balcony, and extra beds were arranged seamlessly. Needless to say, we slept like babies.

Chapter 5: Morning, Yoga & Breakfast Bliss

Morning brought the option of a complimentary yoga session. I’m a self-proclaimed Yoga Girl, but fatigue won that day, so I happily let it pass. Then came the breakfast buffet — OMG. Truly next-level. As a South Indian, I judge a kitchen by sambar and chutney, and this one passed with flying colors. My mother-in-law, a pro-level cook herself, approved the spread. The patisserie counter was equally impressive. The only downside? With so much on offer, it’s easy to get overwhelmed — but in a happy way.

Chapter 6: One Night Wasn’t Enough

Family outings can get chaotic, but the resort’s pre-arrival documents gave us a rough timetable in our minds. Knowing what to expect can sometimes reduce excitement, but not here — the resort’s beauty makes it perfect for relaxation.

Since we stayed only one night, we didn’t explore the spa or pool fully. That led to a return visit a month later with my brother. This time, we enjoyed the resort more like friends — two hours in the pool followed by indulgent massages. The spa location deserves a special mention — serene lake views, peaceful surroundings, and luxurious treatments made it a true sanctuary. Spa prices are on the higher side, but the experience is memorable. After massages, we enjoyed a soothing shower followed by herbal tea and dry fruits overlooking the tranquil lake. Pure bliss.

Chapter 7: How Much Did It Cost?

One of the best parts about this getaway? We booked it using Marriott Bonvoy points, which made the experience even more rewarding. Here’s the breakdown:

August 15 Night (Family of 5, 2 rooms): 50,000 Marriott Bonvoy points
September 30 Night (1 room, revisit with my brother): 23,000 Marriott Bonvoy points

Spa Charges
Basic 15–30 minute options: ₹2,000 – ₹3,800
Elaborate 60–90 minute sessions: ₹4,000 – ₹12,000

Booking with points made this luxury weekend surprisingly accessible, and even with a few add-ons like the spa and dinner, it was worth every rupee for the experience, views, and memories we created.
